APPLY

Whether you’re a new or returning student, you can find information about the application process here.

WHY APPLY

Please, don’t be misled by the name. Though Gilman School is the host, GBALI is not limited to Gilman students nor restricted by ethnicity. Since 2005, GBALI has convened with a diverse group of young men and women representing 60+ different Baltimore area high schools and various socio-economic & cultural backgrounds. ALL BALTIMORE AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

WHAT TO EXPECT

GBALI participants will be introduced to the college application/admissions process, various career paths and the significance of service to people. Additionally, GBALI participants will develop the personal and social skills & values necessary to being remarkable people. Participants have told us that while they were learning and serving, they also had A LOT of fun and made lifelong friendships.

The Gilman Black Alumni Leadership Institute (GBALI) will meet weekly on Saturdays from 9:44am to 12:00pm beginning Saturday, October 21, 2023, excluding holidays, breaks and other selected days. The final weekly session will conclude on Saturday, February 24, 2024, unless otherwise notified. Please, be aware that some sessions may include adult supervised “off-campus” travel, activities and business site visits. The GBALI website and program calendar will be updated accordingly.
